Modified Hurdler Stretch

This exercise stretches our lower back and hamstrings. You may feel it stretches other parts of your body. That´s a clear sign you need to stretch more often.

Sit on the mat with your legs outstretched in front of you, toes pointed toward the ceiling and knees straight. Bend your left knee and place the sole of the left foot against the inside of your right thigh. Sit as tall and straight as possible keeping your head aligned with your spine. Place your hands on the top of your right thigh.

Engage your abs to stabilize your spine. Exhale and slowly bend forward from your hips, sliding your hands toward your ankle. The knee should remain straight with the toes pointed toward the ceiling. Hold this position as you take a few breaths.

Relax and return to your starting position. Repeat with the opposite leg.

  1. Interesting name for it, I believe we called it something different (but as you know all exercises have more than one name now-a-days) lol. Keep up the good work during your demonstrations chape, I also seen you have YouTube videos up more often! that is awesome!

    1. Haha (we know that for sure!). This is how the NASM name it, and I had no better name for it: Seated bending forward with one leg bent? You know I´m terrible naming things 😀
My Youtube videos… that´s a long and delayed story, lol! Truth is I´m working on a new version of the videos, but being a Youtuber is not my goal so, I´ll probably upload some hundreds in a month and then… nothing again for ages 😀
      Big hugs!

As for your videos, I did not know you want a new version of them? like better quality?
I thought you aimed to be a really popular YouTuber?! lol– you could do it, ya know. I will cheer ya on!

      2. That´s a serious compliment 😀 Thank you so much!
A new version like better everything 😀 I have to do new exercises anyway so, why not going further? Of course, that awful background has to go. Also, I´ve learned to do slow motions and some stuff, I need to practice lol
I appreciate your support but Youtube is all yours 😉
